Judge Roy Moore

"Behold, I am coming soon! Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy in this book."

Revelation 22:7
~~~~~~~
America the beautiful,
or so you used to be.
Land of the Pilgrims' pride;
I'm glad they'll never see.
Babies piled in dumpsters,
Abortion on demand,
Oh, sweet land of liberty;
your house is on the sand.
Our children wander aimlessly
poisoned by cocaine
choosing to indulge their lusts,
when God has said abstain.
From sea to shining sea,
our Nation turns away
From the teaching of God's love
and a need to always pray.
We've kept God in our temples,
how callous we have grown.
When earth is but His footstool,
and Heaven is His throne.
We've voted in a government
that's rotting at the core,
Appointing Godless Judges;
who throw reason out the door,
Too soft to place a killer
in a well deserved tomb,
But brave enough to kill a baby
before he leaves the womb.
You think that God's not angry,
that our land's a moral slum?
How much longer will He wait
before His judgment comes?
How are we to face our God,
from Whom we cannot hide?
What then is left for us to do,
but stem this evil tide?
If we who are His children,
will humbly turn and pray;
Seek His holy face
and mend our evil way:
God will hear from Heaven;
and forgive us of our sins,
He'll heal our sickly land
and those who live within.
But, America the Beautiful,
If you don't - then you will see,
A sad but Holy God
withdraw His hand from Thee.
90 Percent Inspiration
This post marks my 243rd post. It also means I'm 2/3 through my 365 commitment. I have to tell you, it was challenging, but not as bad as you might think.
I like that it has challenged my brain most days, trying to come up with something new to post every day. It's also been freeing. Because if I don't get to post it today, I can post it the next day.
Usually, I don't mind my brain being taxed.
Monday with a headache, our writer's group leader introduced us to the formula for sonnets. I'll probably get around to writing one, I was having an internal melt down trying to accomplish it.
Check out this one by one of my friends in the group. It's beautiful and thought provoking.
Never Enough
Rain, shine, cold or hot.
Love my coffee, my last vice
Liquid comfort hug.
End of Days
When you reach the end
Of their days, is it enough
To hold you till Heaven?
Mimi in the Car
I’m reading this book of poetry called “Splintering”. It’s written by a brother and a sister who, with their family, survived a home invasion by a man high on PCP. Their family was dysfunctional before, and evidently it just worsened. I like the writing style because it reads well, flows well. It isn’t rhyming poetry which I favor.
The book covers a pretty wide range of topics. At this particular juncture, the oldest sister is going through a divorce as well as dealing with the trauma of the invasion. her younger sister, the poetess is writing.
this one called Hall of Fame. This line painted such a picture, such a moment for me I had to share it.
…I’ve sat beside Mimi in the car. Almost yelled at her for turning off the song and then turn to see her staring at the rings on her fingers like they were rear view mirrors and she could see all the way back.
Even Though
Even though it rains
The sun shines brightly overhead
Just beyond the clouds.
Christians
"Christians" by Maya Angelou
When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not shouting "I'm clean livin'."
I'm whispering "I was lost,
Now I'm found and forgiven."
When I say... "I am a Christian"
I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble
and need Christ to be my guide.
When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak
And need His strength to carry on.
When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed
And need God to clean my mess.
When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible
But, God believes I am worth it.
When I say... "I am a Christian"
I still feel the sting of pain.
I have my share of heartaches
So I call upon His name.
When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not holier than thou,
I'm just a simple sinner
Who received God's good grace, somehow!
